FAQ

What to Expect from the Over The Edge day (When to Arrive, What to Wear, etc.)?

Is Over The Edge Safe?

Yes! Over the Edge has never had an incident or accident since its inception. Every Over the Edge event is set up as an industrial worksite and as a result is compliant with all federal and state OSHA Fall Protection Standards and OSHA Federal and State Laws. Their policies and procedures adhere to the best practices identified by IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) counsel. This counsel is a strict regulatory body that has regimented guidelines and safety protocols that far exceed the OSHA, Workers Compensation and state labor codes.

All members of the Over the Edge technical team are IRATA and SPRAT certified industrial rope access technicians. Additionally, volunteers assisting with ropes undergo extensive training.

The ropes themselves are inspected by the qualified technical staff at the start and end of each event. During the event, safety checks are performed for each person before they rappel, and every 2 1/2 hours the team re-inspects all the rigging.

Is There A Registration Fee?

Yes.  All individual registrants must pay a registration fee to start the fundraising process.  The registration fee of $100 is counted towards your $1,000 fundraising goal, so you will only have to raise $900.  Registration fees are non-refundable, even if you do not secure a rappelling spot.

All registrants must raise the $1,000 by November 8th, 2021, or your personal card used for the registration fee will be charged for the remaining balance.

If your organization, company, school or shul is interested in doing a “Toss Your Boss” campaign where you raise money for the “boss” to go Over the Edge, please contact Rabbi Yitz Levi at Rabbiyitz@ncsy.org or 215-341-2204 before registering. This is a great way to build camaraderie and get your community involved!

Where Does The Money Raised Go?

100% of the funds raised through Over the Edge will benefit Atlantic Seaboard NCSY’s inspirational programs and scholarships.

NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connect, inspire and empower Jewish teens and encourage passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition. With the vision of Harold and Enid Boxer a”h, the Orthodox Union founded NCSY in 1954 to provide Jewish teens with an opportunity to build a strong connection to their Jewish roots through inspiration and leadership skills.
